What is a customer profile?

A customer profile is the single record of what you know about a customer, from identifiers and attributes to recent behavior. Systems read it to decide what to show or do next.

The idea

A customer profile gathers what is known about one customer into a single record. That can include identifiers like an email or account id, stable attributes like plan or location, and behavior like what they have viewed or bought. The point is one place a system can read instead of piecing it together each time.

What goes in it

Two kinds of data fill a profile. Who the customer is: identifiers and attributes that change slowly. What the customer does: events that arrive constantly and describe behavior. A useful profile keeps both, because a decision usually needs identity and recent activity together.

Why it is not one fixed shape

A profile does not have to be a person. It can be keyed on a session, an account, a basket, or any entity a business cares about. What belongs in a profile depends on what reads it, so the same company may keep several, each built for the systems that use it.

See it on your own traffic

Add the SDK, define one attribute, and see an attribute updating against your own traffic in the first session. The free tier runs on the real engine: no card, no sales call.
