How agents act on live customer behavior

Context and memory are means to an end, which is action. An agent that reads what a customer is doing now, and remembers what they did before, can respond in the moment rather than after the fact.

From knowing to doing

Context and memory are only worth it if the agent does something with them. The pattern is a loop: the customer acts, the agent reads the updated state, decides whether anything is worth doing, and acts, all while the customer is still in the session.

What acting looks like

Acting can be a message, an offer, a route to a human, or a change to what is shown. The trigger is a condition on live state: stuck on the same step for too long, a second failed search, a high-value basket going idle. The agent responds to the condition the moment it is met, not in tomorrow’s batch.

Why timing is the point

The value is in responding while it still matters. An agent that notices a stalled checkout and offers help in the moment can save the sale; the same insight delivered the next day is a report. Live behavior in, timely action out, is the whole point of giving an agent context and memory.
