What is an adaptive experience?
An adaptive experience changes in response to what a person is doing, as they do it. It is the outcome generative UI exists to deliver, a product that adjusts within the session instead of waiting for the next one.
Adapting in the moment
Most personalization runs on yesterday’s data: a batch job builds a segment overnight and the site treats you as that segment tomorrow. An adaptive experience works on the current visit. If someone searches, filters, then hesitates on a product, the experience can respond before they leave.
What it needs
Adapting in the moment needs two things the batch approach does not: state that is current to the last few seconds, and a way to act on it while the visitor is still there. Generative UI is the acting half. Live state is the knowing half.
Where it fits
An adaptive experience is not a replacement for a recommender or a campaign tool. It keeps those tools working from what is true now, so the ranking or the message reflects the visit rather than the profile.
See it on your own traffic
Add the SDK, define one attribute, and see an attribute updating against your own traffic in the first session. The free tier runs on the real engine: no card, no sales call.
